Kids and animals, and the joys of second-shooting!

Grand day today second-shooting for Newcastle wedding photographer Mandy Charlton.  That's two second-shooter gigs this month!  Wedding photographers don't just help each other out for fun (although it usually is!) - it's always a great opportunity to learn, try out new ideas and generally get a taste for the way other professionals work.  There's also a sense of freedom - I love candid, documentary photography, and tagging along at someone else's wedding gives me almost total free reign to gad about indulging my wide angle lens, in amongst the crowds!

In other news, yesterday found me shooting Elijah, an absolutely delightful little chap, approaching his second birthday.

As you can see, Elijah is a very cheerful wee soul and needed nothing more than a few bubbles to get him gurgling happily.

The next few pictures presented me with a bit of a dilemma!  Wilson the Beagle was determined to get in on the act and with a little bit of help, I managed to get some lovely shots of Elijah and Wilson together.  The dilemma though, was whether these photos belonged on my dog and family portraiture website, Hairy Dog Photography, or on Emerson Photography's site.  Answers on a postcard please...

They get on so well together!  Elijah managed to put in a good 45 minutes of over-stimulation, bubbles, flashing lights and taking modelling direction before weariness crept in.  Nonetheless, he smiled right up until the end!

If you (or your dog!) would like a shoot, do just click through to my wedding and portrait website and hit the contact button to get something in the diary.
